In an exciting development, the Nong Bua CHP plant is set to undergo a significant transformation with the replacement of its current Caterpillar gas engine. The cutting-edge Jenbacher gas engine, boasting an impressive electrical output of 1.2 MW, will take its place in this ambitious project. This major upgrade initiative also includes enhancing the existing control system, which was previously carried out by INDAS Automation in 2017.
As part of the upgrade, the plant’s PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) applications will be updated, allowing seamless control of the newly installed gas engine. The commissioning of this advanced system is expected to take place in November 2022, marking a significant milestone for the Nong Bua CHP plant.
